Attention all Outdoor Fanatics

Are you planning an outdoor adventure for yourself and your family and want to make it a safe one? Are you not positive what things you need to have to take with you? I have a few great recomendations that I consider are important when going on any outdoor excursion.

First thing that I would always have of course would be the basics like water, food, and a first aide kit, but if you really want to be safe I recommend that you invest in something that can be used over and over even in your day to day schedule. The Garmin Rino 530 GPS unit, a GPS/two-way radio that has a 14-mile transmition range is perfect for any outdoor adventure. This way if you have two of the Garmin Rino 530 GPS Navigators and someone ends up injured and the other person needs to get aid the two people can still keep in touch as well as be able to pinpoint the injured persons location.

Granted there are cheaper GPS handhelds that you could buy, but they most likely won't have the features that the Garmin Rino 530 has. The Rino 530 also has a built in electronic compass, barometric altimeter, and NOAA weather receiver making it perfect for the outdoor fanatic. This way when you are out walking the great outdoors you monitor the necessary things like weather conditions, and also keep track of which direction you are going.

After all consideration if you still don't want to spend that much money on a GPS handheld then there are other GPS handhelds out there with just your basics that cost less. Like the Garmin eTrex series that has the electric compass, is waterproof up to 1 meter, and has reverse track log to point your way home.
