Take A Gay Tour For Safety
While much of the world has progressed at least to a reasonable level of tolerance there are still some areas of
the world that a gay tour is a much safer way to travel. Numerous countries throughout the world still consider any
type of gay behavior to be an illegal act. Many countries that have this view are some of the more interesting off
the beaten track tourist destinations.
In a world where we are seeing more of the world at a faster rate, our tourist destinations are no longer quite
so exotic even if they are a little off the beaten track. Oman, for instance, has become a tourism mecca especially
for Americans and yet the gay community can find themselves facing jail time for being open about their sexuality
even in the privacy of their hotel room.
Moreover, some of the more off the beaten path tourist destinations offer a great deal of history and intrigue
but have ambiguous laws when it comes to gay travel. Sometimes it is just a matter of where you choose to visit
within a specific country.
Being openly gay in some areas of Israel can lead to serious consequences and yet if you stick to the more
progressive cities of Tel Aviv and the progressive areas of Jerusalem you won't have any problems.
Being able to stay safe in areas that the rules are not crystal clear, or those areas that have outlawed gay
behavior is done much more effectively when you find a gay tour to travel with. This gives you a much better
understanding of the customs and rules of the area while also providing you with a sense of protection by traveling
in a defined group that can help look out for you.
Being gay is not a crime and our community has suffered plenty for who we are. Staying out of harm's way when it
comes to international travel is just smart. It's not necessary to take risks by traveling into areas where there
could be a consequence just for being openly gay.
