Perhaps the best time to engage in gay travel to Minneapolis is during the week that the Twin City joins in their annual gay pride parades. The parades take part every single year, normally the parade falls in the month of June.

The parades are held in order to honor the historic events that led up to lesbian and gay rights. Inadvertently, the events that led up to homosexual people obtaining the rights that they deserved, are actually kind of horrid as a human being to even think about.

Even today, there are gay couples that are still frowned upon for leading the lifestyle that they chose. Apparently, the gay rights act was passed as of June 28th 1969. However, for anyone that is of a gay sexual orientation, they can probably protest that despite this law being passed there are still some things that seem somewhat different for these couples.

During the gay pride week in Minneapolis there are a series of events that are held for gay rights and anyone is more than obliged to join in some of the festivities if they choose to. The two major events that are held during this gay pride week are the pride festival as well as the pride parade.

During the weeks leading up to the parade, there are many exciting activities that couples can engage in. There is a pride boat cruise that is a particular crowd favorite for everyone. The cruise lasts about three hours in total.
