The most extravagant section of Miami Beach is South Beach, a 23 block stretch of Miami Beach which is a popular destination for international and American beach goers alike.  With over 150 night clubs that stay open into the wee hours of the morning, South Beach is where the wealthy and glamorous go to party.  While South Beach is top-optional, you will also find nude beaches and gay beaches, such as at 12^th and Ocean, in Miami Beach. 

If you want to get off the beach, check out the shopping and dining areas of Lincoln Road, an open air pedestrian mall, or Ocean Drive, where you can wander past trendy art deco hotels or perhaps stumble upon a fashion shoot.  And be sure to sneak a peak at the Versace Mansion, also on Ocean Drive, as you walk by.  Miami Beach also has plenty of Museums, Zoos, Gardens, and Aquariums where you can spend quality time recovering from sunburn. 

Because of its world renown as vacation spot, you will encounter tourists from all over the world in Miami Beach, with many Europeans contributing to the trendy (and topless) beach and bar environment.  In addition, many gay and gay-friendly venues are found throughout the city.
